About Delightfully Frazzled

There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.
Jill Churchill

Salutations, my fellow wonderfully imperfect human. Welcome to the joyous madness that is my crazy-wonderful-chaotic-beautiful life as a young mom! Keep reading to find out more about me, my family, and my vision for Delightfully Frazzled.

What is Delightfully Frazzled All About?

Well I’m glad you asked! Delightfully Frazzled is a blog run by a happy-go-lucky, often scatter-brained mom (me!) where other moms can find encouragement and hopefully a few nuggets of wisdom regarding this crazy wonderful adventure called “motherhood.” I share tips and tricks I’ve learned from my own chaotic life about parenting, independent play, managing a home, and some fun DIY projects along the way!

My goal with this blog is to create a place for moms to find helpful tips, new ideas, encouragement, and above all, authenticity. I don’t know about all of you out there, but motherhood for me has been simultaneously the most joyous and terrifyingly challenging endeavor I have ever taken on. There are MANY days when I look at my sons and wonder what the heck I’m doing. I’m never going to pretend that I have all of the answers on this blog, but I do hope that the musings of my journey might offer some encouragement (or at least companionship) to other moms out there.

I also strongly believe that moms need to be taken care of too! I’m a huge supporter of self-love and having an identity outside of “Mom.” I know, crazy, right? But seriously. My family is the most important part of my life– but it’s not the only part of my life.

So Who the Heck Am I?

I’m Katie, and I’ll be your dysfunctional tour guide through the adventure that is Delightfully Frazzled. I’m in my early twenties, married, and mother to two tornadoes with noise: a wonderful handful of a toddler named TJ and our curious crawler, Eli. TJ is two and an incredibly inquisitive, active, affectionate, and extreme ball of energy! (And yes, he’s also a ginger. Surprised us all.) Eli  has thus far been a pretty dang shill baby who loves exploring his little world and watching Big Broski play.

I am currently a stay-at-home mom, which I LOVE– most days! I graduated college with a BA in theater and ministry shortly before TJ was born, and I would love to do something with that degree, someday! For now, I enjoy reading, anime, crafting, writing (hence, the blog), people-watching, beading, Netflix documentaries, and watching my boys grow and learn.

Entering motherhood so close to the beginning of adulthood has been both an immense joy and an incredibly intimidating responsibility. I’ve had some dark times of desperation, as well as many incredible times where I couldn’t imagine my life any differently. Through it all, I’ve learned just as much about myself as I have about motherhood. Even though I may still feel like a big frazzled mess some days, I truly believe that in the midst of all the chaos there is joy to be found in every moment of motherhood (and life in general, too!).

Parenthood is joyous, rewarding, and HARD. It’s the greatest honor and the greatest challenge. So join me as I navigate through life, motherhood, and the pursuit of happiness on Delightfully Frazzled!
